Rehabilitation

The act or process of making possible a compatible use for a property through repair, alterations and additions while preserving those portions or features which convey its historical, cultural or architectural values is called Rehabilitation. Rehabilitation supports disabled people with the tools they need to attain self-determination and independence.

Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment founded The Rehabilitation Council of India as a registered society in 1986 to regulate the training policies and programmes in the field of rehabilitation of persons with disabilities and to bring about standardization of training courses for professionals dealing with persons with disabilities.
