The National Book Trust (NBT) established in 1957 is an autonomous body of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. It owes its birth to independent India's first Prime Minister Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru. The Trust visualizes its role as not just another publishing house, but as playing an important role in filling in the critical gaps in the availability of essential literature, encouraging creativity amongst authors, explaining public reaction to new forms of literary expression and acting as a catalyst to encourage publishers to enter unexplored terrains of literary articulation.

The National Book Trust offers an Online Membership Registration for Book Club. All you need to do is fill up an online registration from, which on submission will provide you with a reference number. Use this reference number for further enquiries.
