Civil Service Day (21st April)
 

The Government of India has decided to observe the 21 st of April every year as "Civil Service Day". The celebration this year, was held in Vigyan Bhawan on 21/04/06, where the Hon'ble Prime Minister inaugurated the function. Amongst others present were the senior officers of the Government of India representing all Civil Services.

 The main program comprised of a multimedia presentation on the evolution of Civil Services over the years and the challenges ahead. This was followed by an interactive technical discussion on Public Service Delivery in two separate sessions. The first session on "Management Aspects" was chaired by the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, while the second session on "Technology Application" was chaired by the Cabinet Secretary. An exhibition on the Evolution of the Civil Services and the significant achievements of the entire gamut of Public Services was also organised on this occasion.
