The National Informatics Centre (NIC), in accordance with the Department of Administrative reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), has developed a set of guidelines i.e. Guidelines for Indian Government Websites (GIGW) that address the entire lifecycle of a website, web portal/application right from its conceptualisation to design, development, maintenance and management of Government websites.

Easter: Easter is held on the Sunday following Good Friday. It marks the resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth after his death by crucifiction and is also the end of the 40-day period of fasting called Lent. On this occasion special prayers and feasts are held across the country.

Baisakhi: This traditional harvest festival of Assam is celebrated under various names around the country. In some parts, it marks the start of the solar New Year. For the Sikhs, it is the day when the tenth Guru, Guru Gobind Singh founded the Khalsa Panth.

Mahavir Jayanti: On Mahavir Jayanthi, Jain temples are decorated with flags, the statue of Mahavira is given a ceremonial bath called the 'abhishek'. Lord Mahavira, the last Tirthankara, is an ideal in Jainism who taught the world the essence of life.
