Defence Security Corps

The Defence Security is a Corps (DSC) of the Army and its personnel are subjected to Army Act under Army. The Corps is a Security Force maintained and organised on the Army model.

The role of Defence Security Corps (External website that opens in a new window) (DSC) is to protect Defence units /installations where DSC cover is sanctioned under specific orders of the Govt of India against minor sabotage and pilferage. To fulfill this role the DSC provides armed security staff, static guards, searchers, escorts and mobile patrols by day and night. The personnel are armed so as to afford a higher degree of protection.

  • Other Ranks: Can be recruited in DSC as Sepoy at respective Regimental Centres/BROs, Personnel Directorate of Air Force and Navy.
  • Junior Commissioned Officers and their equivalent in Navy, Air Force and TA to apply to their Record Office as per AO 620/65 and SOP 01/2007. Final selection will be done by their respective Regimental Centres based on vacancies allotted on pro-rata basis by Recruiting Directorate.
