BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China & South Africa), is a unique Grouping with shared opportunities and common challenges. Formalized with the first meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Brazil, Russia, India and China in New York on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly in September 2006, in a short span of time, the Grouping has come a long way and has evolved a number of mechanisms for consultation and cooperation in a number of sectors.

The tradition of the World Hindi Conferences began with the first conference in Nagpur in the year 1975. Since then, these conferences have achieved a global profile and momentum of their own. Nine World Hindi Conferences have been organized in different world cities, namely, twice in Port Louis (Mauritius), twice in India, Port of Spain (Trinidad and Tobago), London (UK), Paramaribo (Suriname), New York (USA) and Johannesburg (South Africa).

A citizen is not entitled to civic services and benefits, unless their names are recorded in the register.
