The initiative stipulates free drugs, diagnostics, blood and diet, besides free transport from home to institution, between facilities in case of a referral and drop back home. Similar entitlements have been put in place for all sick newborns accessing public health institutions for treatment upto 1 year after birth.

Lack of accessibility to safe abortion services by qualified providers in hygienic condition is one of the important reasons for this. Under Chief Minister's Free Diagnostic Services Programme CT Scan, X- Ray and Laboratory services are provided in the State of Assam free of cost to all patients in Govt.
