National Sports Development Fund (NSDF) was established in 1998 under the Charitable Endowments Act 1890 and was notified by the Government of India in November, 1998. The purpose of the fund is to impart momentum and flexibility to assisting the cause of sports in India. It helps sportsperson excel by providing them with varied opportunities to train under coaches of international repute, provide financial assistance for development of infrastructure and other activities for promotion of sports.

Young people are entering a world of constant change, be it technological, societal, economic or climatic-resulting in a wide range of mental health challenges. Our institute has risen up to the occasion and have initiated mental health awareness and promotive activities for youth through the establishment of HUB. It formally started functioning in March 2019 and since have been running its services/programs in a small scale. It plans to expand and extend its services soon post its 1st annual wellness festival called 'Yuva Mann Meet'.

Community extension services in mental health is one of the major trust areas of the Institution. These extension services bring the limited mental health professionals from the hospital set up to the community, with an objective of covering and serving the larger mentally ill population.

The Medical Record Section maintains the comprehensive data of patients of the hospital in a way that facilitates scientific preservation and smooth retrieval of record for future use. Recognizing its importance, a full-fledged department with adequate space was set up in the OPD building. Computerization of the medical records was started in the year 2000. Presently, all records of Indoor and OPD patients are systematically preserved and updated in computerized format.

The Indoor treatment team consists of Psychiatrist, Senior Resident, Junior Resident, Psychiatric Social Worker, Clinical Psychologist and Psychiatric Nursing staff including ward sisters and staff nurses.

The services of Department of Geriatric Mental Health were initiated at Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Regional Institute of Mental Health (LGBRIMH) from 1st of August 2021. The department is involved in providing specialized mental health services to persons older than 60 years of age as well as training and academic exposure in the field of geriatric mental health.
