Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is designed to provide long-term management of pests, instead of temporarily eradicating them. The main goal of the IPM is to manage pests and the environment so as to balance costs, benefits, public health, and environmental quality. The Central Integrated Pest Management Centre in Jammu and Kashmir (CIPMCJK) is involved in activities of pest surveillance, mass multiplication and field releases of bio-control agents, conservation of natural balance and promotion of the IPM concept.
