Kendriya Vidyalaya Burdwan was established in the year 1994 by the sincere efforts of the M.P Shri Sudhir Roy at the C.C.C Complex Alamganj, temporarily. The Vidyalaya has been shifted to its own building at Kamal Sayer (Goda) from July 2004.

Kendriya Vidyalaya No.2, Gaya, Bihar was established in the year 1979 under the aegis of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education.

The government has approved a new scheme named SHRESHTA (Residential Education for Students in High Schools in Targeted Areas) for the purpose of providing seats for the meritorious SC boys and girls in the best private residential schools in the country. Established in the year 1984, this Kendriya Vidyalaya caters to the educational needs of the children of floating population like the employees of central government offices, defense personnel, ex-service men and other transferable employees liable for frequent transfers.
