The Mizo orange tree can reach 20 feet in height with broad, glossy evergreen leaves and fragrant white flowers. Its fruit is a modified berry called a hesperidium, with segmented flesh. Typically round and orange, variations exist. Oranges thrive in areas with occasional light frosts, and in colder regions, smudge pots or natural-gas burners are used for heating orchards.
