Training and capacity building to increase efficiency and talent forms the fundamental principle in the development of an institution. The Geological Survey of India (GSI) has been training all its newly recruited geologists through orientation courses by imparting field training at many of its field centers distributed across the country covering the mighty Himalaya, picturesque Deccan Plateau, and western, southern and northeastern India.
