The DOEACC Society is an autonomous body of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) of the Government of India. The main objective of the DOEACC Society is to provide most up-to-date and industry relevant computer education in the non-formal sector throughout the country. The Shillong Centre is the 12th centre of the DOEACC Society (6th in the North East) in the country. The Shillong Centre is sponsored by the Dept. of Information Technology (DIT) at a cost of Rs. 7.15 crores.
