The basic objective of the National Programme for Health Care of the Elderly (NPHCE) is to provide separate, specialized and comprehensive health care to the senior citizens at various level of State health care delivery system including outreach services. The Programme is sponsored by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare with 75 percent Central and 25 percent State funding. With this Programme, senior citizens will get free, specialized health care facilities through the State health delivery system.
