National Awards to Teachers was instituted in 1958. The purpose of the scheme is to celebrate the unique contribution of some of the finest teachers in the country and to honor those teachers who through their commitment have not only improved the quality of school education but also enriched the lives of their students.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Jhalawar has carved a niche in the year 1995. It have come to be known as centers of excellence in the field of education promoting national integration a sense of "Indianness" among the children while ensuring their total personality development and academic excellence.

Kendriya Vidyalaya No.2 was established on 22/07/1986. Initially it was a primary school with class I to V, every class had two sections. Mr. L. R. Patil was the first Principal RADM. R. V. Singh (AVSM) was the first Chairman of this Vidyalaya. The Vidyalaya grew over the years. The first batch of X class passed out from the school in year 1992.

Started in the year 1995 as a single section civil sector school sponsored by the Odisha. Began with only Primary classes from I to V in a Temporary accommodation of NAC Guest house building. Now from 2004 Vidyalaya is functioning in the permanent campus at Gandhi Marg Angul.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Vidyalaya Khanapara, Guwahati, Assam was established in the year 1966 under the aegis of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education.
