Alluri Sitharama Raju District is one of the North Eastern district of Andhra Pradesh. It is bounded on the North partly by the Odisha State Partly by Chhattisgarh State and partly by Telangana State on the South by Anakapalli, Kakinada and East Godavari Districts on the West covered by Godavari River and East by Vijayanagaram District.

Anakapalle is a suburb of Visakhapatnam in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The municipality was merged with Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation. It has the second largest jaggery market of the country.

Kakinada district which is newly formed has boundary with Anakapalli district and Alluri Sitaramaraju district on the north, East Godavari district on the south. Konaseema District on South and Bay of Bengal in the East.

Palnadu district is a district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. With Narasaraopet as its administrative headquarters, it was formed on 04 April 2022 to become one of the resultant twenty-six districts The district would be formed from Gurazala and Narasaraopet revenue divisions from Guntur district.

Sri Sathya Sai district is a district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. With Puttaparthi as its administrative headquarters, it was proposed on 26 January 2022 to become one of the resultant twenty-six districts in the state once a final notification is issued by the government of Andhra Pradesh.

This district derives its name from its chief town Kurnool the capital of former Nawabs, Capital of Andhra Pradesh State from 1st October 1953 to 1st November, 1956 and at present the headquarters of the district. The name Kurnool is said to have been derived form "Kandanavolu".
