The Gauhati High Court Itanagar Permanent Bench was inaugurated on 12th August 2000 by the then Hon'ble Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India, Justice (Dr.) A.S. Anand. It is located at Naharlagun (Itanagar), Arunachal Pradesh. Papum Pare district was created in the year 1992 by bifurcating Lower Subansiri District with its Headquarter at Yupia vide Govt. Notification No.GA(B)36/89 Dated 21st September, 1992.
