Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Durgapur was established in the year 2003 in accordance with the National Policy of Education 1986. JNVs are fully residential, co-educational schools affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi having classes from VIth to XIIth standard. These Vidyalayas are managed by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education.
