Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1, Chhindwara was established in the year 1993 under the aegis of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Kalimpong was established in 1985. The Vidyalaya was set up with aim to serve the purpose of catering quality education to the children of the mountaineers region.
