Kendriya Vidyalaya Maligaon, Guwahati was established in the year 1979 under the aegis of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Dinjan, Tinsukia was established in the year 1976 under the aegis of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education.

The school was established in 1985. From its inception, the school has just one mission - to mould students to become future citizens, who are useful to themselves, to their families, to the society, to the nation and to humanity itself.
