It is housed in an attractive building in its own campus at Edat which is 4Km away from Payyanur the cultural centre of North Malabar. Kendriya Vidyalaya JNU was established in 1972 as a base for tertiary education. This Vidyalaya is a Vidyalaya with Primary Branches in IIT, NCERT & JNU Campus. The children join the main school in class VI. This Vidyalaya in the only Vidyalaya with eight sections in each class, from I to XII.

Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 3, Morar Cantt, Gwalior was established as one of the offshoots of Bhopal Region in July 1980 with 500 students and a few staff members in temporary building. Within limited infrastructure it advanced on its path by leaps and bounds in all arenas, in 1994 school got a permanent building which was sanctioned in 1986.

Started in the year 1995 as a single section civil sector school sponsored by the Odisha. Began with only Primary classes from I to V in a Temporary accommodation of NAC Guest house building. Now from 2004 Vidyalaya is functioning in the permanent campus at Gandhi Marg Angul.
