Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is an autonomous body functioning under the Ministry of Education. Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1, Lamphelpat, Imphal, Manipur was established in the year 1964 under the aegis of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education.

Started in the year 1995 as a single section civil sector school sponsored by the Odisha. Began with only Primary classes from I to V in a Temporary accommodation of NAC Guest house building. Now from 2004 Vidyalaya is functioning in the permanent campus at Gandhi Marg Angul.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Samba is 1/2 Km. interior to National Highway1-A. It is in Cantonment area. It is in the midst of lush green environment providing a tranquil and conducive atmosphere for study. Vidyalaya was established on 17th July 1979 in Defence Sector with 2 section each from classes I-V .
