Kendriya Vidyalaya No.2, AFS Surat Garha, Jaipur was established in the year 1997 under the aegis of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Chikkamagaluru was established under Civil Sector during May 2017 and classes started functioning from July 2017 from Class I to V initially with 01 section each and then subsequently upgraded to higher classes.

The idea of encouraging the growth of Secondary Schools with a common syllabus and medium of instruction for the benefit of the children of Central Government employees, including defence personnel liable to frequent transfers was first approved in November, 1962.
