Kendriya Vidyalaya NHPC Gerukamukh, Dhemaji was established in the year 1962 under the aegis of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education.

Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1, A.F.S, Hindan opened in 1970 is one of the institutes run by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan under the Ministry of Education. Kendriya Vidyalaya Barabanki was established in July 1996. The building of vidyalaya was A-O type. The vidyalaya was established upto class x but the permission was sanctioned to the vidyalaya to open class XI-Science in 2009-2010. The Vidyalaya got permission to start XI-Science in Year 2009-2010 Now it is running upto class xii with science stream.
