Kendriya Vidyalaya Idukki is one of the most prestigious educational institutions of Idukki. This centre of excellence which was newly opened in the academic year 2008-2009 under civil sector is temporarily housed at Painavu. Later in 2015, it is shifted to its own permanent campus in Kuyilimala, Painavu.
