    Kendriya Vidyalaya Vidyalaya No. 1 Dhanbad, Jharkhand was established in the year 1973 under the aegis of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education. All classes were housed in the old DVS Building of East Central Railway which are now placed in New Building located in Binod Nagar, Near Hirapur, Dhanbad.
