The Vidyalaya was established in December 1986 with primary classes. Over the years, the school progressed and is providing education up to XIIth class. K.V.Bhanala falls under civil sector under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner Kangra at Dharamshala.

Kendriya Vidyalaya No.2, FCI, Gorakhpur was established 2003 as a Civil Sector Kendriya Vidyalaya. It was established initially to impart education to wards of employees of defence and other Central Govt Employees.
