Kendriya Vidyalayas came into existence in 1963 to provide uninterrupted education to the wards of the Central Government employees who move from one linguistic area to another.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Tiruparankundram, Madurai, Tamil Nadu was established in the year 2004 under the aegis of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education.

Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 Shri Vijayanagar, Visakhapatnam. Founded in the year 1974, it meets the educational requirements of the children of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Central Government employees. Provides school facilities for continuous transfer of office, defense / naval personnel, pre-service men and other employees.
