Kendriya Vidyalaya Ukhrul, Manipur was established in the year 2007 under the aegis of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education.

The Vidyalaya came into existence in 1986 under the Ministry of Education. Initially It was started in the campus of famous Rani Shakti Temple and ran for about seven years there and then shifted to the present location-own building-in Sept.1992. It is running as civil sector school, two section school mainly to cater to the needs of wards of Military Personnel-serving or retired , a big number of which belongs to Jhunjhunu District.

Kendriya Vidayalaya, Lunglei, Mizoram was established in the year 2002 under the aegis of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education.

Kendriya Vidyalaya, CRPF, Ranchi was established in the year 1995. Over the year the school progressed and presently functions in an own permanent building. School having two sections in each class up to X with one section in Science and Commerce stream in XI and XII.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Alipurduar, Kolkata was established in the year 1987 under the aegis of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Tamulpur, Assam was established in the year 2010 under the aegis of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education.

The idea of encouraging the growth of Secondary Schools with a common syllabus and medium of instruction for the benefit of the children of Central Government employees, including defence personnel liable to frequent transfers was first approved in November, 1962.
