Kendriya Vidyalaya No.2 Vijayawada was established in the year 1988 under civil sector, sponsored by South Central Railway, Secunderabad for the Railway Wagon Work Shop, located 2 Kms from our school and 14 Kms from Vijayawada city.

Department of School Education and Literacy is implementing an Umbrella Scheme for Providing Quality Education to Madrasas/Minorities (SPEMM) which comprises of two schemes namely Scheme for Providing Quality Education in Madrasas (SPQEM) and Infrastructure Development of Minority Institutes (IDMI). Kendriya Vidyalaya Dhana is a pioneer Defence sector educational institute established in the year 1981, situated in the Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh about 25 Km from Sagar towards Rehli.
