Kendriya Vidyalaya Bairagarh was set up in the Army Barracks of 3 EME Centre in the year 1975 to cater to the educational needs of the transferable Central Government employees including Defence & Para-Military personnel's.

Kendriya Vidyalaya No.2 was established on 22/07/1986. Initially it was a primary school with class I to V, every class had two sections. Mr. L. R. Patil was the first Principal RADM. R. V. Singh (AVSM) was the first Chairman of this Vidyalaya. The Vidyalaya grew over the years. The first batch of X class passed out from the school in year 1992.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Narangi is one of the premier schools in Guwahati, under the aegis of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. The school was established in 1971 under Defence Sector.
