The idea of encouraging the growth of Secondary Schools with a common syllabus and medium of instruction for the benefit of the children of Central Government employees, including defence personnel liable to frequent transfers was first approved in November, 1962.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Chero, Salempur was established in the year 1993 under the aegis of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Lumami Nagaland University was established in the year 2017 upto class V and now upgraded to class VI. The Vidyalaya is located near the Health Centre and Day Care Centre under the Campus of Nagaland University Headquarter. It is a summer station school.

Kendriya Vidyalaya No.5, Mansarovar, Jaipur was established in the year 1994 under the aegis of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education.

Kendriya Vidyalaya CTPS Chandrapura, Bokaro, Jharkhand was established in the year 1982 under the aegis of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education.
