Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 3, Morar Cantt, Gwalior was established as one of the offshoots of Bhopal Region in July 1980 with 500 students and a few staff members in temporary building. Within limited infrastructure it advanced on its path by leaps and bounds in all arenas, in 1994 school got a permanent building which was sanctioned in 1986.

The SSA Shagun Portal is a twin track approach to monitor progress of implementation of the various components of SSA (Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan) while also capturing and sharing of best practices from States and UTs.

It is housed in an attractive building in its own campus at Edat which is 4Km away from Payyanur the cultural centre of North Malabar. Moreover the Vidyalaya offers its students a peaceful congenial environment for learning, away from the hustle and bustle of city life. It has classes from I to XII with three sections each up to class IX.

Kendriya Vidyalaya, Adoor, Pathanamthitta Dist had a phenomenal growth as is reflected by the fact by 2004, it became one of the few Kendriya Vidyalayas to be given the rare privilege of introducing a second shift. Kendriya Vidyalaya, INS Dronacharya, Cochin was established in the year 1983 under the aegis of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education.
