The government has established a central university viz. 'Sindhu Central University' (SCU) in the UT of Ladakh to ensure increase in accessibility and quality of higher education, and to facilitate and promote avenues of higher education and research for the intellectual development of the people.

Kendriya Vidyalaya AFS Mohanbari was established in 1988 to cater to the growing demand of the students both outside and inside the Air Force Campus which is located in serene, sprawling and pollution free Air Force Campus amidst lush, Sylvan surrounding.

Started in the year 1995 as a single section civil sector school sponsored by the Odisha. Began with only Primary classes from I to V in a Temporary accommodation of NAC Guest house building. Now from 2004 Vidyalaya is functioning in the permanent campus at Gandhi Marg Angul.

Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh was established in the year 1987 under the aegis of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education.
