Sardar Swaran Singh National Institute of Renewable Energy (SSS-NIRE), Kapurthala (Punjab) is an autonomous Institution of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. The aim of the Institute is to carry out and facilitate research, design, development, testing, standardization & technology demonstration. It will eventually lead to commercialization of R&D output with a focus on bioenergy, biofuels & synthetic fuels in solid, liquid & gaseous forms for transportation, portable & stationary applications, development of hybrid / integrated energy systems.
